Wellesley University is offering an online course for students studying abroad to get a better grasp on how to navigate international study.
The university said it is providing the online course as part of its “Study Abroad: A Guide to Getting the Best Experience in the World”.
The course, which takes place online and runs for four weeks, is aimed at students with a broad range of experiences, from working in academia to studying abroad.
It was created by the Wellesley Graduate Center and offers four weeks of study abroad as well as a variety of practical and theoretical courses, including how to prepare for the US visa application process.
“We wanted to make sure that this is something that you can take if you’re looking to get into this area,” said David Farr, dean of undergraduate programs and a Wellesley alumnus.
“It’s something that is really accessible to people who are interested in the field.”
For more than three decades, the university has offered a variety in-person and online programs, including the study abroad study abroad program and the Study Abroad program, but Farr said he and the school’s administration had been waiting for the right time to launch the online program.
“For the last three years, we’ve been working really hard on this,” Farr told Al Jazeera.
“The first two weeks were a lot of work, and we just didn’t have the time to develop it.”
So, we were kind of pushing ourselves to try to figure out how do we make it a better experience, to make it more flexible for people who would be able to take it and take it on a week to week basis.
“The online course is offered as part the university’s efforts to attract more international students to its undergraduate programs, and it aims to encourage students to study overseas.”
In the past, the vast majority of international students were coming from the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates,” Farg said.”
Now that it’s becoming easier for students to come from all over the world, we have to be thinking about how to help those students get into the program.
“For the first time, the study abroad program is offered online.
Students can access the course through a mobile app, or by clicking the “Explore” button.
The online course runs for seven days and will be available until the end of March.
