His research interests include the etiology and pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders, cognitive disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

His book, Neurobiology of Psychiatric Disorders: From the Brain to the Brain: An Integrative Approach to Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment, has been translated into 19 languages and published in over 200 scientific and professional journals.
